This is another hidden gem…. on the back streets of Souk Waqif, Qatar. Wonderful food, superb service, all served with pride and big smiles.
This place is hidden away from the main street down a small alley way. If I was them I would definitely sign post it better as currently, its a place that you’d only stumble across. It has an outside terrace on the street as well as a roof top terrace on the third floor. The kitchen is open and you have the option of choosing your own meat.
For starters we shared a selection of yummy Turkish ‘pizzas’ with different types of dips….
For mains, we decided to go for a sharing platter, an assortment of different meats from kebabs to chops – all grilled to perfection. The platter came with bread, rice, chips and some bits of salad but we ordered fattoush on top. Added to that we ordered the lamb stew which was tasty but the meat could have been slightly more tender…..having said that we did all manage to scoff it a matter of minutes. For four of us this was more than enough!
In addition the Turkish coffee is, as you would expect of very high quality and a perfect end to the meal. This place is a great spot for good quality, affordable food and another bonus is…..their Shisha is very reasonable at a price of 22 QAR. Your evening could go on for hours and hours at this place….definitely worth a visit!
