Well on Tuesday is was National Sports Day in Qatar, the fourth time it has occurred in a drive to promote healthy living and build awareness of the importance of keeping fit.

Qatar has been known as one of the most unhealthiest countries in the world for several years. The habits of the individuals as well as a society has been an ongoing issue.

Therefore it was up to the leadership of the country to instigate the change by making it a national holiday and encouraging the corporations increase their corporate social responsibility.

Having been assisting in the running of a fitness start up in Qatar over the last few months, this was Fitness with Food (soon to be Evolve) busiest day of the year.

The company was working in partnership with RasGas, one of the worlds premier gas companies.

As part of the event that was held at Aspire, we did some Muay thai teaching

The awareness this day raises isn’t limited to the Middle East and world renowned sporting personalities such as Dame Kelly Holmes was promoting this years event and friend and fellow blogger, Rosalyn Cragg interviewed her on Tuesday.

Some people will think this is just an exercise of public relations, however I genuinely believe this initiative is a great one and shows that at least someone is trying to tackle a global issue.
